CamStudio records
screen and audio activity on your computer to create AVI video files and
turns them into bandwidth-friendly, streaming Flash videos (SWF).
CamStudio also lets you add screen captions or video annotations to your
recordings through anti-aliased images, or by producing a Webcam movie
of yourself (screen in screen) on your desktop. And CamStudio comes with
its own lossless codec that produces crystal clear results with a much
smaller filesize compared some popular codecs, like Microsoft Video 1.
Additional options include cursor controls, the ability to record an
entire screen or a portion of it, and selections for output quality.
Best of all, CamStudio is easy to use and navigate, plus it includes a
built-in Help file.

lol y'all need to chill, I've been using camstudio for years and have never run into such problems with viruses or any other "catastrophic" incidents. Nick Smith was obviously right in one thing he said, which was the false positive results in most of your antivirus software. I know for a fact that most of these antivirus scans are biased, and sometimes say that the file is infected when it is not. Also note that I'm mostly reffering to viruses such as trojans or malware, but adware is another story,...

Hello, I try to install camstudio on 2 PCs the first one is okay but the second one (same model etc..) doesn't have MPEG LAYER 3.... So I try to install every packages below : K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1330_Full and also this one : K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1330_Full -but nothing has changed...I didn't see the MPEG LAYER 3 I have on the first PC !!! Can anyone help me, it is quite urgent, I need it to create a professional video, in order to train/explain every-day-Work issues.

Why would a recording software have its default setting to not record the audio??!?!?!?!?? This has got to be one of the worst software design decisions I have ever had the misfortune to come across. I downloaded this software to record a family member's singing stream and it was not until I went to watch it later that I discovered it did not record the audio. Good, worked as expected. One issue: IT COMPLETELY RUINED MY VOLUME. Before using this, my volume was amazing. I couldn't even have it at full volume or it would blow my headphones out. After using this, I turn the volume all the way up and I can barely hear anything. I uninstalled the program, and guess what? MY VOLUME WAS STILL BROKEN. I HAD NO ISSUES UNTIL I USED THIS JUNK. Just calm yo tits guys, there is no virus FFS lol, all your antivirus scanners are probably just giving off false positive results. Had been using this for years and I've never come across any problems with viruses and whatnot. But I don't recommend using this because I've had problems with the program itself, such as it not being able to use the MP4 format. Read More »
