Starting off a torrent with the latest LastOS work with extra apps (remove any unwanted if burning DVD9 or leave them all in if creating a USB installer).

** If removing/adding or changing apz - Remember to run ssWPI, right click the Items list and pick re-scan for items prior to burning a DVD **

Also if your using USB doing the above once when complete will ensure the list of available apps is up to date.

This has been tested twice on my real OS install and a few times in different VM's *Note the VM may fail to get to LivePE - simply press ctrl + alt + del and choose File - New Task and type in explorer, this will start the LivePE within VM's.

Almost all the apps were updated to yesterday except the ones that failed to work correctly for me. As I was making this torrent I notice uTorrent has a settings screen bug, but it's able to be updated on first run and works fine apart from that initial error message.

This has no connection to LastOS's work and is a build to keep existing LastOS users happy - if they weren't able to build their own LastOS 7, this will not be supported by LastOS and will only receive support here at SITP by myself.

The theme is the same as the last version of NightOS, just updated and bug fixed. This has no OS or driver problems at all, unlike the Last NightOS release, sorry for that.

To apply the update, open the ISO in UltraISO or any ISO editing app, extract the Update_1.zip and place the content into the iso, replacing all files.
If you already have a USB drive made, simply extract the Update_1.zip directly to the USB disk overwriting all files (if you place in a sub path move it back to the root of the USB disk again and remove the empty folder).



Thanks 1/3 up and not been a full day yet - so you all should have it in 3 days like I thought.

Remember the best way to use this is to mount the downloaded ISO in a virtual drive, run Autostart and pick Make USB.
From Make USB you can format a new USB device with HP format (this is the only tool that makes it able to boot on most PC's), then follow the rest of the prompts.

You can then repartition the USB device (resize the HP Format made partition and create more). 

If you already have a Windows 7 bootable partition you can simply delete all the content from it and copy this version in instead, I've been told your able to format the bootable partition with Windows 7 if it's already been made active etc with HP format.

To install:
Once you boot to the LivePE, your able to pick your apps to install before starting the install, you can also repartition with Partition wizard 7 (included) and make a ppApps and/or ppGames folder on the root of the drive you wish them to go to, ssWPI and SetupS will detect the folders when it goes to install the selected apps. All the included apps are silent except for the XNA Framework 4.0 in Gamers Runtimes - this can only be installed after a Windows 7 setup has been rebooted once or more. ssWPI's tools/setup screen lets you set the menu sorting style before you even start the install - pick NightOS for the best sorting style.

Once in your fresh install, use settings screen to set computer names etc, also use the tools screen to put the LivePE on to the PC's boot menu (for repairs when you have no access to your NightOS install media). I've included TeraByte Image to backup your configured install, but it is in Trial mode and takes 20 seconds to start - no biggie and the resulting image can be restored in under 15 minutes (7 on SSD).

Remember if your installing x64 to use the x64 Icons in the LivePE to start things off, all apps that are x86 only will be hidden so you don't have to worry about which apps will work for you.

ppApps run identical to normal silent apps, ppApps will not need to be reinstalled if you have to re-install/restore/reimage your PC and any settings or updates to them will be in tact, if you have a copy of SetupSetupS you can move ppApps/ppGames across to a new PC and use SetupS Regenerator (from start menu) to install them (takes up to 3 minutes depending on PC speed and amount of apps you have installed).

I've removed the extra themes pack from this release to save you all downloading an extra 107mb, use any of the apps from old LastOS releases if you wish or download more from LastOS.org if you need/want them as I hadn't updated it anyway.

I never included Microsoft's Malware removal tool in the updates as they get updated monthly.

To activate this windows use the Loader button on the Settings screen at the end of the install (any time you want to register your windows, it uses Daz Loader 2.6). Once you've activated your Windows 7 (legally or not) you can use MS Update without any problems.

I chose not to include the bloated Microsoft Office as LibreOffice can do the job in most cases and I am sure the ones who need it would have a copy of it my now. I also never included Corel PSP x3 as it can not be Silently installed anyway.

Many of the new apps you see in the list are found by the LastOS team, so I don't know what all of them do yet myself, but I added all the photo collection tools as I recently scanned and sorted 43900+ photo's of my family/extended. took me two months and without the included tools it wouldn't have been possible, I chose to use Windows Live Photo Gallery over Picasa because it writes the information to the .jpg .tif files instead of a Database like Picasa, the only short coming over picasa is the GPS positions are in text form (addresses) and not GPS positions.

I also included Plex Client/Player, plex is great for people who collect Movies or TV series, I recommend anyone who uses boxee, DLNA or other styles of serving media to try it, LG Smart TV's support it and that's how I found out about Plex. I chose not to include the server as it requires a lot of manual work to configure it properly, so Grab the Server from: http://www.plexapp.com/download/win-download-new.php

NOTE: 
This has been tested twice on my real OS install and a few times in different VM's *Note the VM may fail to get to LivePE - simply press ctrl + alt + del and choose File - New Task and type in explorer, this will start the LivePE within VM's.

This turned out to be a race condition, I have had it fail once on my new install I just started, just follow the same trick to run explorer manually if you PC hangs after picking the ppAppsLive dialog, means that something has triggered that will stop explorer loading by itself (damn temperamental bugs, I don't think I've ever released a release without some kind of bug - usually discovered on the first day or two tho).

I'll spend a few days on making a new LivePE (boot.wim) to release as an update to this build, but it does still work fine once your in LivePE  Update will be approx 250mb when it's made/ready.




This is an entirely new preset that the Team was working on before we stalled development. It's not public and I am not sure if it will be, I am currently at a time in my life where I am deciding what I'll be doing next, all I know is that if I do go forward then I'll be scrapping everything and starting from the beginning (as I enjoy), this method allows me to try new things that are exciting and interesting, instead of just maintaining existing projects, I have personally never had an interest in maintenance or documentation, I just like to tinker and play. The LastOS team allowed me to focus on doing that, but eventually it came down to the fact we were all un-paid and did it out of interest, so eventually we were expecting things to slow down and the existing stuff to "do the job", it's a shame that TheFreezerBox, BPHLPT, Ghost, C0d3Z3r0 & Trouba were the only ones who put in time improving and maintaining the project, I mean with everything open source and the proven concepts (LastOS's OS's ) that more people didn't get involved, but it just goes to show people are only after the quick fix and would use these things to save time, instead of taking full advantage of our work to make some of their own projects come to light, what I mean by this is we made the tools in a way that anyone could create a preset that they could share and others could then mod that and re-release or post fixes. No one ever did this, even tho we spent the time making it possible.

I know on my next projects that I'll be making all the decisions for you and that I will only be releasing full projects. More people use and enjoy the complete packages more then the few who got involved and laughed, learned and experienced the joys of creation.

Anyway, this release will conclude my OS mods using current technology, if I decide to move forward with modding it will be a whole new design with new ideas and none of the old ones (at all).

My projects included Linux, Game packs, Emulator packs, App packs, Builders, content creation tools and themers and of cause the Windows mods. The whole time I was working on the assumption people would customize them all to suit their own needs, instead of focusing on providing more content for them, obviously I was wrong and my future projects will involve me merely sharing what I create for myself instead. If no one decides to get my future projects I can just sit back and play some games for a few years  or perhaps do some house/yard maintenance that I've been avoiding for the last 9 years I've been working on LastOS things.

Well I hope you all enjoy this release, I will get started on a new LivePE for it once I finish cleaning up the mess I made updating the hundreds of apps I included/tested for this release.




I've built the older LivePE that didn't have the explorer race condition, I'll keep testing it out and get to uploading it after the main torrent is done in a few hours  Turned out to be 270mb and I threw in the uTorrent fix while I was at it.
